Seven apps to send local content to the Chromecast from an Android mobile

The Chromecast is a device that, even after a somewhat unnoticed, is extremely useful for those who want, among other things, watch streaming content on their TV without a Smart TV. Its low price (especially in its beginnings) does not mean any sacrifice to acquire one of these devices.

But there are times that this is not enough and you want to get even more out of that small and curious device, and that’s why our favorite store, Google Play. Here’s a list of a few apps that can help you get content from your smartphone to Chromecast so you can watch it on TV.

AllCast

AllCast is an application that allows you to play videos, photos and music on your television. In addition to being able to use the Chromecast, it is also compatible with Apple TV, Xbox One, Smart TV of various brands, among other devices. The free version limits the viewing of photos and videos to 5 minutes, but the premium version eliminates this inconvenience.

PlayMX

PlayMX is an online entertainment service where you can play content in several languages. In addition, the application allows you to download the titles to play offline and, if you like, pass it to the Chromecast to watch it on TV quietly.

LocalCast for Chromecast

LocalCast is one of the most popular applications to be able to stream content to Chromecast with more than five million downloads. It lets you send photos, videos and music, as well as being compatible with other devices such as Smart TV, Nexus Player or Xbox One, among others.

BubbleUPnP for DLNA / Chromecast

BubbleUPnP, like many other applications of its style, allows you to play photos, videos and music on your Chromecast. Besides that, it is compatible with other devices, such as Xbox One, Play Station 3 and 4, Nexus Player or Nvidia Shield. Some options, however, need the payment version.

Web Video Cast | Browser to TV

Web Video Cast is a bit more limited than your list partners just being able to upload videos to the streaming device. The advantage is that this app is what it does is look for the address from which you see the video on your mobile (movie, series, YouTube …) and sends it directly to the other device (it can be Chromecast, Smart TV or Roku, among others) with the objective, they say, to save battery in the smartphone.

Video & TV Cast | Chromecast

Video & TV Cast is very similar to the previous application. In this case, when entering the web that contains the video, what you have to do is wait to have the video link and click on the corresponding part to bring the content to the Chromecast or Android TV device.

AllConnect – Play & Stream

AllConect closes this list by re-displaying photos, videos and music. In addition to Chromecast, it supports devices like Nexus Player, Apple TV, Xiaomi Box, Xbos One, among others.
